The McClean Lake facility will primarily act as a mill for ore produced at Cigar Lake and other mines in the vicinity. It’s owned by AREVA (70 %), Denison Mines (22,5 %), and OURD Canada Co. Limited (7,5%). The operating firm is AREVA.
The mining in McClean Lake is currently on standby, while the mill is being expanded by AREVA to be able to process 100 % of the Cigar Lake ore. Due to low uranium prices, the underground projects at McClean will remain on standby in 2014.
